Where do you get elevation? Is USGS 3DEP 1 m lidar available?

Auto (the default) tries USGS 3DEPfirst — 1 m lidar where the National Map publishes it, or a coarser 3DEP layer when that is the finest coverage. If the area is outside 3DEP or the request fails, we fall back to Mapbox terrain-rgb (~10 m). You can also force USGS or Mapbox in the app. The source badge after generate tells you which DEM was used.

Is there an acreage limit?

We do not publish a product acreage cap. Typical properties generate fine. The sampler refuses a box more than about 40 km on a side so we do not pull an enormous DEM, and detail is the long-axis sample count (150 / 300 / 600). There is no separate “max acres” setting.

What is the difference between STL and 3MF?

STL is a single-color binary solid. Contour and boundary lines can be raised or engraved as real geometry so they still read on a one-filament printer. 3MF is the full-color file for AMS / multi-material printers — forest-green terrain, orange contours, property outline, and optional printed hunt features. One credit unlocks the model in both formats.

Do credits expire? Are re-downloads free?

Credits do not expire. One credit unlocks one model. Re-downloading that same unlocked model — STL or 3MF — does not spend another credit.

Do I need an account to try it?

No. Guests can search, draw a boundary, generate, and preview the model in 3D for free. Signing in is required to save a project or download a file. New accounts start with one free download credit.
